What we collect, and what we do with it.
Last updated 3 September 2026
Summit Scholars Academy is a small, family-run math academy in Frisco, Texas. We collect the least we can get away with, we use it only to teach your child and talk to you about it, and we have never sold data to anyone.
What we collect
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You request an assessment | Your name, email and phone; your child's first name, grade and math class; anything you type in the questions box; how you heard about us | To email the right assessment, and to prepare for the results call |
| Your child takes the assessment | Their answers, and how long each question took | Timing separates a fluent answer from a laboured one, and it is how the placement is made |
| You book a results call | The appointment, and your timezone | To hold the call and send reminders |
We do not run advertising trackers. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no cross-site profiling. If you arrive from a link we sent, it may carry a tag telling us which campaign it was, and that is the extent of it.
The assessment, and your child
The assessment is designed for a child to complete at home. We record their first name only, never a surname, a photograph, a date of birth, or a school. Their answers and timings are read by Dr. Sri to make a placement, and are discussed with you on the results call.
Because we ask for a child's first name and grade, we treat the whole record as belonging to you, the parent. You can see it, correct it, or have it deleted at any time by emailing us. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children beyond the assessment your child is asked to sit.
Reminders and updates
There are two boxes on the request form, and they are deliberately separate, because agreeing to be served is not the same as agreeing to be marketed to.
- The first box is required. It covers the assessment link, a reminder before it expires, and your results call, sent by text, WhatsApp, email or phone. These are the things you asked us for, and we cannot deliver them without a way to reach you. A phone call is part of that: if the assessment has not been opened, we may ring once to check nothing has gone wrong. We do not call to sell you anything, and the optional box below covers no calls at all.
- The second box is optional. It covers occasional news about classes, competitions, workshops and other math opportunities. Leaving it unticked changes nothing about the assessment or the results. Nothing promotional is ever sent to anyone who has not ticked it.
We do not message about anything else, and we never pass your details to another business.
Reply STOP to any text and we stop immediately. No reply is needed from you, and it does not affect your child's place or anything else we do. Reply HELP for contact details. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works the same way. Message and data rates may apply, and we do not text outside 8am to 9pm your local time.
Who else sees it
Two companies process data on our behalf, under contract, and neither may use it for their own purposes:
- HighLevel, our customer database, which stores your contact details and sends our emails and texts.
- Cloudflare, which serves this website and the assessment. It sees the standard request information any web server sees.
The reviews shown on our home page are served by Elfsight from Google's public review data. Nothing you give us is sent to them.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with other tutoring businesses. We would disclose it if the law required us to, and we would tell you unless forbidden.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become students are deleted after two years. Student records are kept for as long as your child studies with us and three years afterwards, so we can speak sensibly about their progress if they return. Ask us to delete sooner and we will.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of everything we hold about your family.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Have it deleted.
- Stop emails via the unsubscribe link, or texts by replying STOP.
Email sridharan@aimail.summitscholarsacademy.org and we will action it within 30 days. There is no form and no fee.
Where your data lives
Our providers store data on servers in the United States. If you are writing to us from outside the US, that is where it will be held.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with information we already hold, we will email you before it takes effect. Otherwise we will update the date at the top.
